Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), Austria – a partner of IU-VNU is calling for exchange students applications in AY 2025 – 2026. Students may apply for Ernst Mach Grant (EMG) Scholarship which targets talented undergraduate and graduate students wishing to study at any Austrian academic institutions. The scholarship is sponsored and processed by the Republic of Austria, Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF), and processed by OeAD-GmbH, Agency for Education and Internationalization. More details are as below:
1. Term of study: Fall semester 2025 (4 months), spring semester 2026 (4 months) or full academic year 2025-2026 (10 months).
2. Venue: Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), Innsbruck, Austria.
3. Study program: see courses offered for bachelor and master students at https://www.mci.edu/de/
4. Number of students to be nominated: 4 eligible students (Bachelor/Master). The number of candidates may vary depending on the host university.
5. Eligibilities: Applicants are required to
- Be a full-time Bachelor/Master student at IU-VNU;
- Have completed at least one semester at IU-VNU for Master students, or two semesters for Bachelor students;
- Have the GPA of at least 75/100 with no component GPA below 60/100;
- Have not registered Thesis by the time of application;
- Will not register Thesis in the spring semester of AY 2024-2025. Note: K21 Bachelor students will be required to submit a consent letter regarding this issue;
**Note: If a student of Cohort K21 or K22 were granted the EMG scholarship to study at MCI in the spring (2nd) semester of AY 2025-2026, he/she would consent not to do the Thesis until he/she returns to Vietnam to continue the study program at IU-VNU in AY 2026-2027**
- Be able to submit two letters of recommendation by full-time lecturers of IU-VNU (further instructions below);
- Have a certificate of English proficiency (encouraged, not required);
- Meet the application deadline and submit a complete package of required documents.
- Commit to return to IU-VNU to complete the study program at IU-VNU.
Ineligible students:
- Students of Articulation program (Chương trình liên kết) who will be transferred to the second phase of study at the partner university/or will be transferred to the Top-up phase (UWE 4+0 program).
- Students who already registered for Thesis by the time of application, or will be doing Thesis in any semester of AY 2025-2026.
- Students who are registered as being in a gap semester/gap year.
- Students who have participated in the exchange programs for 2 regular semesters in total.
- Students who have been granted EMG scholarships before.
6. Scholarship value:
- Monthly scholarship rate: EUR 1,300.
- Assistance in arranging accommodation (dormitory or apartment) with the OeAD student housing: monthly rent (approx. EUR 330 to EUR 800) + monthly administrative fee (currently EUR 24).
- Health insurance: Currently around EUR 55 to EUR 200 (guide value; depends on age, scholarship category and state of health).
- Note: The costs for accommodation and insurance are to be paid by the scholarship holders.
- Travel allowance: Scholarship holders from non-European developing countries will also receive a travel allowance of up to EUR 1,200 upon presentation of original receipts.
7. HOW TO APPLY:
Step 1: Application assessment
Applicants submit a full application to the Center for International Mobility (CIM) before 3 PM, 10 December 2024 (Tuesday). Link to submit: http://bit.ly/3AmXID8.
Note: In Page 2, select “Partner exchange” under Program type, choose “Austria” in the Home country section, and choose “Austria – MCI” in Host institution.
A full application package includes:
- Application form: Go to cim.hcmiu.edu.vn/outbound-download 🡪 Click “Exchange program application form” 🡪 Download and fill in your information.
Note: In sheet 2, section II. Program registration, please indicate the semester in which you are applying (fall/spring/both semesters).
Note: This procedure normally takes 7-10 working days, so please make the request as soon as possible.
- 02 Letters of Recommendation from full-time lecturers of IU-VNU. The letters of recommendation can be freely worded, must have letterhead, date, signature of the recommender and stamp and must not be older than six months when the application is submitted. Please download the template here and send it to the lecturers.
Note: CIM will support students with the procedure of certifying and stamping lecturers’ signatures.
- A Letter of Motivation (max 500 English words in English).
- A certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS) – Encouraged, not required.
- A scanned copy of the passport’s information page (valid at least 12 months by the time of enrollment in the exchange program at MCI).
- Other supporting documents if any (certificates of participating in extracurricular activities, prizes/awards granted at the university/city/province level, proof of working in scientific research projects at IU-VNU).
All documents should be in PDF format and named following the format: Student Name – Student ID – Type of document. For example: Nguyen Van A – BABAIU22001 – CV in English; Tran Van B – IELSIU20002 – Transcript of record (Scale 100).
Step 2: Student nomination
IU-VNU will shortlist 4 students based on academic records, motivation to apply for EMG scholarship, and 02 recommendation letters. After being nominated, applicants complete the online application guided by MCI via email later on.
MCI Admission team will evaluate and send Letter of acceptance (LoA) to eligible students. Note: LoA is a must-have document when students move to Step 3.
Step 3: Online application with OeAD before 01 February 2025.
Students will be guided to submit documents (similar to step 1) up to the online system. Note: You are required to submit the LoA issued by MCI in this step.
Step 4: Wait for scholarship results from OeAD and MCI (around June 2025). CIM will contact successful students for further instructions regarding accommodation, visa application, course registrations, etc.

The U.S. Mission in Vietnam seeks qualified candidates for the 2024 Fulbright U.S.-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Program. The program provides grants to Vietnamese scholars to travel to the United States for three to four months during the first half of 2025, where they will carry out scholarly and professional research on priority issues to the U.S.-ASEAN relationship. Projects should be recommended that are regional in scope and / or have clear implications for the entire ASEAN region.
BACKGROUND
The United States is committed to sustained engagement across Asia as a strategic priority, including working closely with multilateral institutions such as ASEAN. The objective of the Fulbright U.S.-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Initiative, which was started in 2012, is to deepen people-to-people engagement and strengthen our ties with the 10 member nations of ASEAN, while specifically emphasizing the importance of ASEAN. This program is complemented by two additional initiatives; the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) and, in the last year, the Billion Futures Initiative. Since the program began in 2012, more than 100 scholars from all 10 ASEAN member states have been awarded scholarships to pursue studies focused on a wide range of subjects including public health/pandemic response, jurisdictional issues in South China Sea, engagement across the Indo-Pacific region, ASEAN economic integration, human trafficking, and food safety. In addition, during the past several years, we have included U.S. Fulbright scholars who are selected for Fulbright awards to travel to two, three or four ASEAN countries for research projects relevant to U.S.-ASEAN priorities.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants should be university faculty, foreign ministry and government officials or professionals in the private sector, think tanks and other NGO whose work focuses on U.S.-ASEAN issues
- Applicants will be expected to have a significant record of scholarly or professional accomplishment
- Must be citizens of one of the 10 ASEAN member states
- Must be residing in an ASEAN member state throughout the application and selection process, and must return to an ASEAN country upon completion of their U.S. stay
Preference will be given to qualified applicants who have not had recent and substantial experience in the United States.
Applicants are ineligible if they:
- Are currently teaching, studying, or conducting research in the United States
- Have received a Fulbright grant within the last five years; or
- Have been to the United States as a J-1 Exchange Visitor in the category of Professor or Research Scholar within the past two years.

- No dependent support will be available

Program Overview:
In recent years, Vietnam has become one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Two of Vietnam’s most important sectors – agriculture and industrial – are becoming the country’s leading sectors globally. Both sectors are also very water intensive. In business-as-usual scenarios, Vietnam is at risk of facing a water security problem in the near future.
Guided by experienced Vietnamese and Dutch mentors, Vietnam AquaVenture 2023 offers an intensive entrepreneurship bootcamp with training, workshops and field trips to equip young entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully develop their solutions.
Program Objectives
• Support aspiring and ambitious youth in Vietnam to develop their innovative water technology solutions as promising new start-up companies.
• Nurture the creativity and technology-savviness of Vietnamese young entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions for critical water issues in Vietnam.
• Connect young entrepreneurs with Dutch and Vietnamese networks for further business collaboration opportunities.
Focus Theme
Vietnam AquaVenture 2023 is focusing on two main themes:
• Water for Agriculture
• Water for Industry
Participants are to select from one of the two themes as their main focus. A combination of both would be welcomed.

• Apply as a team (2-3 persons per team) or as an individual.
• Has a business idea to develop. All entries must be the applicant’s original work and free from any claim of copyright, patent or other restriction. The business idea should not be in violation of any intellectual property rights.
• Vietnamese university students or young professionals with a maximum of three years of working experience.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willing to actively participate in an intensive program, field trip, and project planning.

IU-VNU would like to call for applicants (2nd and 3rd year students) for a full-semester exchange program at ESB School of Business, Reutlingen University in Germany. Exchange program at ESB offers undergraduate courses with a focus on International Operations Management (IOM). Outstanding students can apply for TL-Stiftung Scholarships with the value of 5,200 EUR/package.

- Tuition fee: students only pay the tuition fee to IU-VNU before the start of exchange semester (for at least 14 credits/semester).
- Living expenses: approx. 700-900 EUR/month (including rent).
- Applicants should be in the second or third year (not first or fourth year) at the university.
- Applicants with financial difficulties who are interested in applying for an exchange semester at ESB Business School and cannot afford it.
- Amount: 5,200 EUR/semester
- Eligibility: Candidates should demonstrate a level of proficiency in English and have a suitable GPA:
- Proof of language proficiency include test scores of 6.0 and above in IELTS and a minimum of 750 points in TOEIC or equivalent certification.
- Have an overall GPA above 7.5 with no course under 6.0 (Physical training, Military Education or Political courses are not counted)
- References from professors would raise your chances of being invited to an interview.
- Step 1: You must be nominated by IU-VNU as an exchange student to ESB and TL-Stiftung Selection Committee.

- Step 2: Eligible students will be invited to an interview section with TL-Stiftung’s representative.
- Step 3: After the announcement of scholarship results, students may decide to continue or withdraw their application.
- Step 4: Students will then receive an email from exchange coordinator at Reutlingen University including a link for online application on MoveON
- Step 5: Submit all the required documents up on the online system.
Once your application has been completed and accepted, CIM will provide you with additional information about housing, available courses, important dates, etc. and send you a letter of acceptance in case you need to apply for a Visa.
Note: Should your application be successful; you will need to enroll in at least 3 courses as well as an additional German course.
